1.   What can I expect at the initial consultation session? 

 
At the initial consultation session, a consultant will: 
 -  listen to your concerns 
 -  provide an assessment based on your current situation 
 -  explore options with you 
 -  identify the types of skills that you need to better handle your situation
 -  develop an action plan with you
 -  make appropriate referrals if necessary 
 
 
 

2.   How are consultation services delivered? 

 
LISTENING TO YOU offers you the option of receiving consultation services via phone or face-to-face session(s) (currently only available in Rockville, Maryland).
 
 

3.   How long is each consultation session? 

 
The first consultation session is 60 minutes long whether it is delivered through phone or in person. Once a client has completed the first consultation session with a LISTENING TO YOU consultant, the client will have the choice of selecting a 15-minute, 30-minute, 45-minute consultation session segment that he/she can use as needed.

  

 

4.  How do I make an appointment? 

 
You can make an appointment by calling 301-412-7943. Appointments are generally available within 48-72 hours of your request. 
 
 

5.   Are there any walk-in consultation services available? 

 
Unfortunately, LISTENING TO YOU does not provide services on walk-in basis. 
 
 

6.   Where are face-to-face consultation services provided? 

 
They are provided in the office of LISTENING TO YOU, located at:

7.   What are your office hours? 

 
Our office hours are the following: 

6:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Wednesday
7:00am to 8:00pm, Friday
 
 

8.   Does LISTENING TO YOU provide EAP &  Individual Counseling Services? 

 
LISTENING TO YOU primarily provides consultation and training services.  Any time a LISTENING TO YOU consultant believes a client might benefit from the assistance of a mental health professional, he/she will make an appropriate referral for a client according to the individual's needs. 

EAP services are provided on a referral basis only. 

Individual counseling services can be requested by calling 301-412-7943, and a LISTENING TO YOU consultant will scheduled a 60-minute consultation session with you.  At the end of the session, you and the LISTENING TO YOU consultant will determine an appropriate course of action.  This plan might include subsequent individual counseling services with the LISTENING TO YOU consultant or a referral to a mental health provider in the community to better meets your needs.

 
 

9.   Does LISTENING TO YOU provide its services to minors? 

 
LISTENING TO YOU only provides its services to clients who are age 18 or above.
 
  

10.   Who do I contact if I am interested in putting an advertisement under the "Resources Information Page" on this website? 

 
 
Simply send an email to  or call 301-412-7943, and we will be happy to walk you through the simple procedures and answer any questions that you might have. 
 
 

11.   How confidential is the consultation services of LISTENING TO YOU? 

  
LISTENING TO YOU is a confidential service.  Information disclosed during your consultation services session will only be communicated outside of the LISTENING TO YOU under the following circumstances:

1)  Your consent in writing.

2)  Your life or safety is seriously threatened.

3) The life or safety of others is seriously threatened.

4) Disclosure is required by law.

5) If the consultant believes that a child, an elderly person, a nursing facility patient or a disabled person is being abused and/or      neglected. 

 

12.   What is the Cancellation and No-Show Policies of LISTENING TO YOU? 

 
A 24-hour notice is required in the event you need to cancel your appointment.  If an appointment is canceled or missed with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full fee for that session.
